What is Versailles?
Versailles is a UNESCO World Heritage site just outside of Paris spread over 800 hectares. Dating back to the 17th-century, the Palace of Versailles’ most famous residents include Marie-Antoinette and Louis XVI. Notable features on the site include the Hall of Mirrors, the gardens, the Grand Trianon and the fountains. With nearly 10 million visitors every year, Versailles is a must-see when you visit Paris.

A skip-the-line ticket to Versailles allows you to enter this popular tourist site without waiting. The lines outside of Versailles can often wind back and forth through the giant courtyard, possibly taking hours to gain entry. Skip-the-line tickets typically cost more, but it certainly saves time and patience. This is a good idea when you’re on vacation.

Depending on the type of ticket you book, your ticket may also include special events like a firework and fountain show, themed guided tours or a delicious meal. If you don’t need anything fancy, you can simply purchase a half- or full- day ticket that provides access to the palace and the gardens.

Versailles Hours
The various areas of Versailles have different hours depending on the season. During the high season, which runs from April 1 – October 31, the Palace is open every day from 9 PM – 6:30 PM except on Mondays and May 1. The low season runs from November 1 – March 31. During these months, the Palace is open every day from 9 AM – 5:30 PM except Mondays, December 25 and January 1.
