Skip the line tickets Vatican

The Vatican Museums are a part of the Vatican City and contain a huge range of art that has been collected by Popes over the centuries. One of the key sights is the Sistine Chapel, a beautiful space with a roof painted by the Renaissance master Michelangelo. This is one of the most visited art museums in the world and its collection attracts people from all over the world. As such, the queues to enter can become enormous, particularly after 9am when the tour buses start to arrive. In order to have the most pleasant experience, it is recommended to skip the line when visiting.

What are skip the line tickets for The Vatican
The treasures of the Vatican are legendary, not to mention the ethereal experience in the Sistine Chapel, and as such the queues can become extremely long and time-consuming. Rather than waste time in the queue, there are two ways of skipping the line. The first is to purchase skip the line tickets which allow you to chose the day and time that you would like to visit. Then when you arrive at the set time you can go straight up to the pre-booked ticket entrance avoiding the considerably longer queue for tickets. The second is to take a tour which includes a skip the line benefit. Whatever you do, do not purchase a ‘skip the line’ ticket from touts on the day, these are virtually guaranteed to be a scam. As St Peter’s Basilica is a church, tickets are not required to enter.

Opening hours for The Vatican
The Vatican is open for tourists Monday to Saturday, from 9am until 6pm, though guests may not enter after 4pm. For those that love art, allow around 4-5 hours to soak up as many of the artworks and treasures as possible. On the final Sunday of the month, there is no entry fee from 9am until 2pm though it can be extremely busy on these days.
